Meet Dr. Lakebrink

Dr. Lakebrink, affectionately known by many patients as “Doc,” is a 1985 graduate of the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Dentistry. During his career, he was honored by the Midwest Implant Institute with the prestigious Dr. Robert James Award for excellence in the field of implantology, recognizing his dedication to advanced dental care.

For over 40 years, Dr. Lakebrink has practiced comprehensive general dentistry, helping generations of families maintain healthy, confident smiles. Over the course of his career, he has built a reputation for successfully treating complex dental cases and restoring both the function and beauty of patients’ smiles. Cosmetic dentistry has become a defining focus of his work, and he takes great pride in helping patients achieve life-changing smile transformations that restore confidence and allow them to truly enjoy their smiles again.

Dr. Lakebrink believes in combining experience with modern technology to provide the best possible care for his patients. His practice incorporates state-of-the-art dentistry, including same-day tooth-colored crowns and chairside restorations using CEREC and E4D technology, soft tissue laser treatment to support optimal periodontal health, one-visit root canals, and professional whitening. These advanced tools allow him to deliver high-quality, efficient treatment while keeping patient comfort a top priority.

Committed to staying current with the latest advancements in dentistry, Dr. Lakebrink places a strong emphasis on continuing education and has completed hundreds of hours of advanced training throughout his career, particularly in cosmetic dentistry and complex restorative treatment.

Dr. Lakebrink believes every patient is unique and deserves individualized care. He takes pride in creating a welcoming, family-focused environment where patients feel comfortable, valued, and confident in their dental care.

Outside the office, Dr. Lakebrink enjoys spending time with his wife, Cathy. Family is incredibly important to him, and that family connection extends into the practice as well! Three of his daughters proudly work at Lakebrink-Mitts Dental. When he’s not in the office, he loves spending time at the lake with his five children—Carilee, Michelle, Scott, Lauren, and Kirk—and all of his grandchildren. You’ll often find him grilling out, cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals, and enjoying time with family and friends. He’s also a lifelong dog lover.
